I hit that low last weekend and ended up in my walk-in closet. I learnt a few things while I was in there:
- walk-in closets hold a lot of stuff.
- I put a lot of stuff in my closet.
So while I was in there, hiding, I decided to tidy up a bit. I discovered that:
- my closet really holds a lot of stuff.
- if I organize some things and get rid of others, my closet will hold more stuff.
- if I organize it all and find other places for some things I will actually have a nice place to sit and knit as I cower and hide from my children during the summer holidays.
In my initial survey of this hidden hideaway I discovered this:
It is a hexagon from the Mountain Laurel Crib Counterpane. It's been a UFO since I bought the yarn almost six years ago. I knew that my friend was going to have another baby so I wanted to knit something special. Since time flies when you have so many projects on the go......let's just say.......that baby will be 5 years old this August. (Stop laughing.....all of you)
This project really deserves to see the light of day so I'm determined to finish it.....(I mean it, stop laughing). Wish me luck!
Until next time
Yours in Yarn,
The Fibreholic

You are soooo funny. Well at least you found a beautiful WIP
to finished now. You could leave it as it is, and use if for a doily, or, finish it and keep it for another baby. Happy closet hiding.

Wow. Though, in all honesty, I can relate. Sometimes WIPs need a looooong break. Yours reminds me of the Hemlock Ring - turn it into that; they whip up fast!
Well what a wonderful find! How are things on your side of the water? :) I am known for "rescuing" doilies from yard sales and thrift stores all the time. Forgotten projects but those were just discarded.... a crime in my opinion.... :) Nice to visit your blog again!! :)
Let us know how the "hiding from the children in the closet" thing works out. I'd love to find a place to get away from the plaintive cries of "Mom, I'm bored" ; "Mom, would you do -fill in the blank- with me?", etc. this summer.
Nice WIP - deserves to become an FO!
But yes, I hide in the bathroom - or I would only they find me too easily, and the 6 year old can reach the door handle now!
You are so funny - I love the story about Denise's book - I must search it out!
